Can I walk my dog on the beach?
Dogs must be kept on a leash while on the beach or streets. Some beaches may have additional restrictions - check for posted signs.
How do I get to the beach?
Beaches can be accessed in Pawleys Island, Litchfield, Murrells Inlet (Huntington Beach State Park), and Garden City. Most of these communities have public beach access parking. Parking in Public Beach Access is free.
Can I tour a rice plantation?
Both Hobcaw Barony and Hopsewee Plantation offer tours of historical rice plantations.
Can I drive to Georgetown Lighthouse?
Georgetown Lighthouse can only be accessed by boat. It is located on North Island and was constructed in 1811. Tour operators in the city of Georgetown offer boat trips to visit the lighthouse.
