The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the Georgetown County area, so that its citizens and its business community may prosper. All necessary means of promotion shall be provided and particular attention and emphasis shall be given to educational interests of the county with a stewardship interest in its heritage and natural environment.

The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce is the area's premier business advocate committed to building stronger economic opportunities for its members by partnering with businesses, education, government and the community.

The Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce has been serving the surrounding community for over eighty years. The GCCoC was established in 1917 and is the third oldest Chamber of Commerce in the State of South Carolina.

The Chamber's primary goal is to promote the commercial and civic interests of the community. It is dedicated to the  improvement of the Georgetown County, SC, business climate, advertising, and promotion of the community. The GCCoC  sponsors business after-hour socials,leadership seminars, and specialty brochures.

The GCCoC staff produces several helpful brochures to better acquaint you with Georgetown County and the Waccamaw Neck area and its organizations. Whether you're looking for a new place to get away or just trying to find another favorite restaurant the GCCoC has a brochure to help you. Some of these brochures include information on facts and statistics, restaurants and accommodations, real estate as well as a comprehensive booklet describing the assets of the community and services offered throughout the area.

Governed by officers and an elected board or directors, members of the GCCoC annually decide on a Plan of Action. This Plan of Action details the activities of all committees including Events, Member Relations, Tourism, Transportation, Retail Merchants, Education, Governmental Affairs, Leadership, Fund Raising and Economic Development.
